But you haven't known how to really get started

The JDTP is designed to empower & develop everyday people, like you, into amazing leaders in the fight against human trafficking. This course is specifically designed for those who will be mentoring or housing survivors in aftercare ministry. Those that engage in outreach or rescue/recovery ministries, which have frequent and direct interaction with suspected sex trafficking victims, would benefit greatly from this program.

Trafficking & more

Trafficking is our focus, but it encompasses...

  • Homelessness, drug addiction, childhood abuse & trauma, domestic violence, foster care, gender issues, sexualization & objectification, incarceration & reintegration, etc...

  • You can’t work in one of these areas without running into the issue of trafficking

  • You can’t work on trafficking without running into these issues

You will learn...

To walk your own journey as you walk with survivors

  • The survivor’s journey through different stages of growth on their healing path over the span of several years.

  • The leader’s journey on growing a community based justice ministry that is impactful, supernatural, and works with the government/secular community.

Who are we?

Bluewater Mission Justice Ministry

  • Veronica Lamb

    Veronica Lamb

    Social Justice Director

Hey friend! I'm Vern (Veronica Lamb) and I run the Justice Ministry side of Bluewater Mission. We equip everyday people & create community-based safe homes in Hawaii. Since 2008 we've mentored well over 100 sex trafficking survivors in their journey to leave the exploitative sex trade. I've personally lived with most of them as I ran the first safe house out of my own home... All the while working a full-time day job in the tech industry and raising two kids. It was fun. It was hard. It was worth it.Finally in 2017, after the birth of my second child and quitting my day job, I dedicated myself to combining my tech skills with my ministry experience to create training materials that can be watched anytime, anywhere, and aren't dependent on massive amounts of money or restrictive schedules. There are literally millions of human trafficking victims dying for a safe place to heal. The good news is there's 2.2 billion Christians in the world called by God to set the captives free. We can solve this problem. We can change the world. We just have to mobilize effectively & efficiently. Drop me a message and let me know what else you'd like to see covered in a Justice Ministry course.

This is a good fit for you if....

  • You’re willing to change your life in order to change the lives of others

  • You have a heart for trafficking survivors & victims of abuse

  • You see yourself becoming active in ministry, mentoring or housing survivors, within the next 12 months

  • You can commit 1 to 2 hours per week to online lessons/homework AND 2 hours in a monthly group meeting

This is NOT a good fit if..

  • Your priority is to create a compartmentalized and very routine life that feels predictable & safe as often as possible.

  • You are looking to build your resume with training, but not actually interested in working directly with survivors within the next 12 months.

FAQ

  • What if I don't plan on living in a big home, with a bunch of people?

That's actually perfect! Small homes - like a married couple or a few roommates - making a couch or a bed in your home for one survivor at a time is ideal!

  • What's the time commitment? I'm afraid of not being able to complete this.

JDTP is a 6 month program. We estimate that the work will only take you 1 to 2 hours per week. That includes the short video, the worksheet, and your action steps for that week. Once a month we will do a group call that will take less than 2 hours. **Basically, if you have time to watch 1 to 2 TV shows a week, then you have time to join this program.

  • Will there be in-person meetings or is it all virtual?

It's virtual. We all have different schedules & responsibilities in life. We wanted to create something that gave you enough flexibility to learn at your own pace & time.

  • Can I have a group of people join me for the group sessions?

Absolutely, if you have friends who have joined also, you all can have study groups or watch parties for the group calls. **If they aren't members of the program, then we ask that they wait & join at the next enrollment session.

  • When will the next enrollment session open?

Right now we are focused on our first session. We do not have a date picked for the next one yet.

  • Why should I sign up for this session?

    1) This one allows you to get started right away and not let delay or procrastination stop you. 2) This session is also the most affordably priced option we will have. The price will go up on future sessions. 3) You get lifetime access to the course. 4) You get to help shape the future of the program and define what additional content is needed for students.

  • When is the content ready?

All 6 months of the content is available to you immediately. However, we recommend doing a little each week so you are making consistent progress towards your goal of having an active and effective ministry. **Bonuses will be added in occasionally. Recordings of group calls will be made available to you as we complete them.

  • I'm not a Christian, can I still join the program?

Absolutely. All of our leadership team members are motivated by a belief in Jesus and a calling to walk out our faith in the world. So... you will hear us talking about that. If you're comfortable with us having a personal faith, then we're totally happy to have you join the program!

  • I was involved in the sex trade, how do I know if I am ready to join this program?

First, let us say that it is so good to have you here! Please reach out to us directly to continue this conversation! [email protected] **Generally, we ask that former victims, workers, customers, etc... have a few years out of the industry, be working with a therapist, and have a close pastoral/mentor person supporting them, before starting any of our programs.

See what others are saying....

about our ministry methods, trainings, and community houses

“While I have over 30 years of experience working in the Faith Based Foster Care/Group Home system in Nebraska, I've never started a new Program on my own. This course was very instructional, in relation to helping me "frame up" the kind of community houses that we desire to facilitate.... The sections on leadership, the tiers of service the home could consider, as well as the defining our home also continued to help me frame up some of the structure for our Homes of Hope.”

Brian RaderBrian Rader

“The relationships I’ve made through Bluewater have given me hope for my future when I’ve never had anyone to lift me up and tell me that I can do more with my life than to just sell my body.”

D - Survivor and Community House MemberD - Survivor and Community House Member

“Everyone was so nice & loving. They never judged me. They treated me like family. Having a place in the house allowed me to heal in all aspects of my life. I was able to bond with others and realize that I wasn’t alone in my journey.”

K - Survivor & Community House MemberK - Survivor & Community House Member

“Your house changed my life! Your house changed my daughter’s life. When I found out you guys were just doing this, like it wasn’t a job…. I don’t know. It made all the difference. Those Sunday night dinners and shit, that was crazy. It changed my life.”

S - Survivor & Community House MemberS - Survivor & Community House Member

“I know I didn't tell you how much I appreciated the things you had done for me... you did more than my real mom ever did... and that shows real love... you and [your husband] showed me what real love is. ”
